Engineer by day. The rest of the time, mostly this.
When the laptop closes you will usually find me with a guitar in my hands or something slowly coming together on the stove.
I came to music late and on purpose, and it has quietly become what I care about most outside work: fingerstyle guitar above all, a bit of piano to understand what I am hearing, and more singing than I would have admitted a few years ago.
This is the warmer half of the site. Nothing here is on my CV.
A few things
- Nobody in my family played an instrument. I picked up a roommate's ukulele in my twenties and never quite put it down.
- One guitar, four voices at once: bass, rhythm, harmony and melody. That is why fingerstyle won.
- I can no longer hear a doorbell without naming the interval.
- Grew up where Comté is made. I consider cheese a cultural heritage and act accordingly.
- Cooking is how I show affection. Fermentation is how I practise patience.
- I pick up accents faster than is socially safe.
- Reads science fiction, gets sidetracked by biology.
- Learns languages mostly to hear how they sound.
